May 2, 2008 1-3pm Topics: 1. Navigating the Cal/OSHA Website………………..confusing at times but the information is essential! Carla Slepak, Safety Consultant with Cal/OSHA Consultation Services in Van Nuys and an Instructor for the CSUDH Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health Certificate as well as the newly appointed CSUDH OSHA Training Institute Education Center will make it all make sense! Learn how to use this essential tool! 2. Risk Management Essentials: Protecting Your Workplace……….Astra Townley, Technical Consultant with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and an Instructor for the CSUDH Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health Certificate as well as the newly appointed CSUDH OSHA Training Institute Education Center provides participants with a greater understanding of risk management and how to organize a risk management program. This workshop introduces participants to real world, practical risk management decision making processes that you can apply immediately on the job in a variety of situations. (this course is a “preview” of Astra’s forthcoming blockbuster class….see course description attached) BONUS: All participants will be entered to win a FREE course in one of the CSUDH, Environmental, Safety and Security Certificates donated by the California Society for Safety and Security Professionals (CSSSP.com).
