INGLEWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT TO HOST “PUBLIC SAFETY DAY” EVENT
The public is cordially invited to join members of the Los Angeles County Fire
Department and Inglewood Police Department for an afternoon of exploring Police
and Fire career options, displays and demonstrations. This year the Fire Department
will hold their Fire Service Day at the Inglewood Fire Station, 141 W. Regent Street,
and the Inglewood Police Department will host its Open House at 1 W. Manchester Boulevard.
Both events will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2007, from 11:00 AM. – 4:00 P.M.
Opening Ceremonies begin at 11:30 A.M.
In partnership, there will be displays of all police and fire emergency vehicles and
special purpose safety vehicles that include the Fire Department’s Urban Search and
Rescue Unit and the Police Department’s new Emergency Response Team Command Vehicle (ERT)
along Regent Street, between La Brea Avenue and Fir Street. Exhibits and demonstrations
will be featured on the Grevillea Mall south of City Hall.
Recruitment booths for Fire, Police, Public Safety Dispatcher and Records Assistance
positions will be manned by recruitment personnel. Additionally, written exams for
Police Officer will be held Saturday, May 19, 2007, at 8:00 A.M., City Hall, Community Room.

Both Police and Fire will showcase K-9 demonstrations, amongst a variety of other
exciting live-action demonstrations.
There will be many fun and interesting attractions for the entire family.
The event will feature free medical screenings, fingerprinting of kids,
station tours, arts and crafts, games, a Fire & Police dress up booth for kids,
face painting, refreshments, a bike raffle, and other entertaining activities.
