HIP Comes to Inglewood

Doors are expected to open for the promising new Hire Inglewood Program (HIP) on Wednesday, January 23rd as part of the recent agreement between the City of Inglewood and the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).

The new HIP facility will provide information about job opportunities at and around the Los Angeles airport through computers and knowledgeable staff on site.   Applications may be completed in the new HIP office and residents will be able to do job searches, prepare resumes and research job training opportunities at the new facility.

Not only will the staff provide “hands on” assistance in preparing job applications, they will deliver the applications to the appropriate location at LAWA.  Prospective employees will also be provided information about job training and internship opportunities which will be provided through partners in Inglewood and locations in other cities.

HIP will also provide services to business owners by means of literature and information explaining how to do business with LAWA.  The on-site staff will connect clients with staff at LAWA in many other areas for which additional assistance may be needed.

HIP will provide career opportunities in construction, customer service, sales and retail through public computers that will be available to the public in the office.  The office will be located on

the second floor of City Hall and will be open Mondays and Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
